TODAY’S YOUTHS, TOMORROW’S LEADERS

TODAY’S YOUTHS, TOMORROW’S LEADERS

Scripture Reference: Exodus 33:11
So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

God handpicked Moses with all his weaknesses even as ineloquent person and He used him to bring the people of Israel out of Egypt.

However, as always, the day came when the younger generation had to take on the mantle. As mighty as Moses was, he couldn’t serve God and His people forever. There was the need for the upcoming generation to fill in his shoes.

Could anyone have taken over from Moses? No, that couldn’t have been possible. Moses’ successor had to be someone with similar godly qualities. The individual had to be a person of faith, prayer and of the Spirit.

It had to be someone who was ready to go all the way in spite of the odds with God – one who would take God at His Word and dare to believe His promises. These qualities were exactly what Joshua, Moses’ successor, possessed that made him such an instrumental servant of God.

If God was to chose someone to carry on a divine assignment, could you be the one? Is He going to give it a consideration in appointing you? How prepared and ready are you? The truth is; many are called but only few are chosen. How well are you positioning yourself today in order to fall among chosen ones? Selah!

Grace unto you,

ACTING LIKE YOUR FATHER

ACTING LIKE YOUR FATHER

Scripture Reference John 1:12
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

God refers to the people of Israel as His own children. Before Christ came to the earth to save the whole of mankind, it was only the people of Israel who had a relationship with God. God’s covenant was only with the Israelites.

As God’s kids they enjoyed special privileges even to the envy of their neighbouring countries. The mention of the name ‘Israel’ most often would bring terror on their enemies – all because the shout of the King was among them (Num. 23:21).

The opening Scripture reveals some marvellous truth regarding you as God’s child. It says; but as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name. The thirteenth verse goes on to say; who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man but of God.

Isn’t that glorious? Just as human beings give birth to humans of the same kind and a tree would bring forth another tree of its kind, likewise God has given birth literally to you as His kid. That’s why you have to demonstrate His character traits such as love, peace, joy, mercy, forgiveness, patience, faith, unity and others.

You can bring all these virtues forth to impact other lives because you have them in your spirit. All you need to do is to yield yourself to the Holy Spirit and learn to operate in life just like your Father.

Grace unto you,

Osei Barnie.

JOY LIKE A RIVER

Friday, August 12

JOY LIKE A RIVER

Scripture Reference: 1 Thessalonians 5:16

Rejoice always.

As clearly evident, this verse of Scripture is one of the shortest in the Bible. However, the power of this statement can’t be emphasised enough.

Rejoice always – that’s to say; stay in the mood or state of joy always regardless of the present circumstances. Is that possible? Emphatically Yes! God won’t tell you to do something that’s out of your capability. This implies that you have what it takes to rejoice at all times.

There’s a significant difference between happiness and joy although we often use them interchangeably. Happiness as a mere emotional commodity is experienced by everyone. It’s based on the positive circumstances of life such as being healthy, having money, excelling at a project etc. It’s short-lived because life has its challenges.

The storms of life will sooner or later change the positive circumstance to a negative one, thereby causing sadness and sorrow to set in. This is the everyday experience of the world. You see them happy today but sad tomorrow.

Joy, on the other hand, is a spiritual substance deposited in the heart of every Christian at the rebirth – as the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22). God isn’t yet to give you. You have already got it – right there in your heart. You see why you can and should be joyful 24/7.

Grace unto you,

Osei Barnie

THE EARTH’S THE LORD’S

Wednesday, August 10

THE EARTH’S THE LORD’S

Scripture Reference: Psalm 24:1
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein.

Many people will only appreciate that God is Lord of all things including their lives on the day of great judgement when no mercy and grace will be shown.

You surely long to know more of His supremacy but not in the way He did in the life of Pharaoh. Your Father wants you to be conscious of His lordship for our own benefit. If only you can grasp this reality, the days of fear, failure, defeat, lack and all the opposing forces of life will be over.

Indeed there is none like the great God Jehovah! He is the Alpha and Omega. His words are Yea and Amen. There is no impossibility with Him. All that He needed to do during creation was to speak things and they came into materiality. Genuine life, love, joy, peace and success are only found in Him. I believe you agree with me that there is surely none like Him. He belongs to a class of His own.

You see why you should be the boldest, confident, joyful, worry-free person on earth. Yes! Your Father is the master over all things and He wants you to live your life in the light of this truth.

Guess what, if you are a son or daughter of the One who owns everything, then you own everything too. So Paul said ‘whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your’s (1 Corinthians 3:22). Oh Hallelujah! Praises be unto God forevermore! Amen!

Grace unto you,

THE PARABLE OF THE PRICELESS PEARL

Tuesday, August 09

THE PARABLE OF THE PRICELESS PEARL

Scripture Reference: Matthew 13: 45, 46
45) Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, 46) who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Jesus, in His teaching here, is likening the kingdom which He brought into the world to a merchant who is seeking precious pearls. What then is a pearl? This is a hard spherical substance formed within the shell of a mollusk such as an oyster. As a rare, admirable and valuable object it usually has a high price tag.

No wonder the merchant – or a business person – would go on a mission to search beautiful pearls. However, he came into contact with a particular pearl – a pearl of great price – which caused him to make some drastic move.

Having being involved in this trade could possibly mean he had accumulated some wealth and other possessions over time. Yet he went and sold all these so as to buy just one pearl. Exchanging all that he owned just for one object is indeed a great exchange.

Now, this man had absolutely nothing except that one pearl. This particular pearl was so rare, admirable, valuable he had to let go of everything before he could have access to it. All that he has now in life is just that one pearl.

You could imagine his family, friends and even fellow business companions making mockery of him and his decision. Many people would see him as a fool but he saw things from a different perspective. To him, this was the smartest move of his life.

As a merchant he could perceive that the value of this pearl was far precious and high than all that he previously possessed. What a practical lesson to pick up from this parable. What is that one thing that you need to prioritise over others? Do you have to make some drastic decision or move in order to get God’s best for you? Selah!

Grace unto you,

Osei Barnie
