ACT ON THE RHEMA-WORD

Scripture Reference: Genesis 12:1, 2
Now the LORD had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. 2) I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing.

Rhema can be defined as a specific, spoken Word from God to a specific person or group of people at a specific time, with the purpose of addressing a specific case, circumstance or situation for the now!

You can receive Rhema through a teaching, preaching and prophecy. Even in a vision or a dream God can give you Rhema. Any time God speaks unto you directly or through someone, streams of Rhema are released unto you.

The question now is: are you opened and receptive unto the Spirit of God to receive that ‘now’ Word? Do you have a listening heart for God’s voice? Come before Him like a child goes to the father; totally focus on Him with readiness to hear His still, small voice.

After that, you ought to act on whatever He speaks to your heart. It might not always make sense to the natural mind. However, if you’re indeed sure of Him to be the source of that voice, be at rest and be obedient to His leading. It’ll definitely turn out for your own good.

Never forget that: One Rhema-Word from God can change your life forever. It’s that powerful! It did to Abraham, Moses, Joshua, Esther, David, Mary, Peter, Paul and several other great Bible characters, and it would also to you if only you embrace and act on it.

God gave a Rhema to Abraham, instructing him to leave his comfort zone to a land that He would later show him. Although he didn’t know where exactly he was going (Heb. 11:8), Abraham left his family house in faith believing God to lead him to the land.

By acting on that Rhema, he became spiritually, financially and materially blessed so much so that through him all nations on the earth are being blessed today. That’s the power of acting on the Rhema-Word! Praise the Lord!

THE POWER TO GET WEALTH

THE POWER TO GET WEALTH

Scripture Reference: Deuteronomy 8:18

And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Do you know God wants you rich? Yes, He really does! Over the years many people have spoken against the prosperity of the saint. Yet should you go through the Bible, you’ll discover vividly righteous people in the likes of Abraham, Job and David were mega-rich.

The people of Israel didn’t leave Egypt as poor beggars. In fact they plundered the Egyptians of their silver, gold and clothing. What they did wasn’t their own initiative but was in accordance with the direction of Moses – the prophet of God.

What God is against is the love of money (1Timothy 6:6-10) and discontentment (i.e. being greedy for more without having any godly or moral reason). These are the things you shouldn’t allow to defile your heart and your love for God.

God wants you rich so that you could financially help advance the gospel. It’s true that the gospel is free but it’s equally true that the means of getting it out to people is very expensive. Moreover, we have the poor and the needy living in our midst, and it’s our responsibility to help them out, but you can’t give what you don’t have. So allow God to prosper you, then He can use you to help prosper others.

Remember that Christ became relatively poor on the earth for a purpose, and that was to make you rich so that you can financially influence the spreading of the Word (2 Cor 8:9). That’s why you can’t settle for a beggarly Christian life. Your heavenly Father isn’t poor, and neither does He want you to be.

Commit yourself to Him, to the Word, prayer, evangelism as you love and serve Him with all your heart, soul, strength and substance. This is how you tap into that power to get wealth, which is your birthright as a child of the King.

THE FAITH FORMULA

 THE FAITH FORMULA

Scripture reference: Genesis 12:1

Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house to a land that I will show you.

Did you see what God told Abraham (at that time he was called Abram)? To get out of his comfort zone and journey to a place that He will show him. Notice He didn’t say,’…the place that I have shown you.’ This would have meant Abraham knew where to head towards.

On the contrary, he left home for the trip with no specific direction. Imagine how it would have felt like when he announced to his family and friends of his decision. This question most probably would have popped up, ‘Where are you going Abram?’ He could only have said something along this line, ‘’I don’t know as yet the exact place but God said…’’

Surely this doesn’t make sense at all to the human mind. Yet Abraham with his wife, Sarai, and nephew, Lot , together with their belongings set out for the unknown journey. Hebrews 11:8  shows what enabled him to follow the senseless plan: By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

This principle of faith hasn’t changed in our day; it still remains the formula to follow in order to take a hold of your inheritance. If you desire to receive your blessings there will definitely be moments where you

have take some steps ‘not knowing where you’re going.’

Abraham didn’t do anything to bring the land – his inheritance – into existence. God had already made that provision even before the foundation of the world. Nevertheless, he had to journey in spite of the challenges before he could receive that which God had in store for him.

What you need primarily to begin your journey is not money, opportunities, favour, and qualifications. As good and helpful as these are, they aren’t the factors that should initiate your journey. What should set you off is a Rhema-Word from God. This spoken Word, just as it did in the case of Abraham, would birth faith in you to do even the impossible.

BEWARE OF RATIONALLY GOOD ADVICE!

 BEWARE OF RATIONALLY GOOD ADVICE!

Scripture reference: Genesis 16:2

So Sarai said to Abram, ’See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.’ And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.

Sarai had a discourse with Abraham, her husband, concerning her childless state. Abraham, prior to this moment, had definitely narrated the ‘promise of his own son’ that God had given unto him to Sarai. Knowing that she had little or no chance of conceiving at the age of seventy-five, she convinced Abraham to take her servant Hagar as a wife to help fulfil this promise.

The conclusion that he came to in regard to this dialogue would later on cost the whole world so dearly. Does it ring any bell? Just as it was foretold by the Angel, Hagar gave birth to ‘a wild man whose hand will be against every man and vice versa’ (v.12). The seemingly endless chaos in the Middle East is a direct result of Abraham’s decision.

Just like Abraham, we also come into contact with our own ‘Sarais’ in work places, schools, homes and even the church. These are people who can bring out clever and enticing means of achieving a particular goal which may results in a misfortune.

It’s even more dangerous when it comes from someone who is dear to you. Many people have ended up in hospitals, prisons and even their graves so untimely by virtue of rationally good advice but contrary to God’s voice. Several others have missed God’s destiny for their lives for the same reason.

So what do you do? Don’t swallow in whatever people say no matter who they are because they can miss it too. You have to verify any advice with what God has said in His Word or what He has spoken to your heart personally. It’s very important!

If the advice lines up with God’s voice then act on it because it’s God speaking to you through that person. However, if it’s out of tune with what God has already ministered to your heart then you’ve got to reject it regardless of how rational and sensible it might be. Remember it also pays to stick with God instead of man.

Grace unto you,

THE ABUNDANT LIFE IN CHRIST – part 2

THE ABUNDANT LIFE IN CHRIST – part 2

Scriptural reference: John 10:10

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly

Are you experiencing the victory Christ has already made available to you or are you on the receiving end of the blows of life? In life you are either a victim or a victor. There is no middle ground.

However, the good news is: the answer to all the problems and challenges in life is already given to us as a free gift from the good God. That answer is the Lord Jesus. He is the antidote to sin, sickness, poverty, depression and all the other fiery missiles of the enemy, Satan.

Are you struggling with a particular sin? Then He declares to you today that, ‘Sin shall not have dominion over you (Romans 6:14). He has set you free from sin and even more gloriously has made you a partaker of His own righteousness (Romans 6:18). Now you declare to yourself that you are the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:21) and for that matter you cannot be a slave of sin. This is how to take dominion over that which you have been enslaved by.

Are you sick of any ailment? Now is the time to receive your divine healing. The beatings and sufferings Christ experienced shouldn’t be in vain. He bore your pains and sufferings through the stripes He received so as for you to live in divine health (Isaiah 53: 5). You therefore have no right to be sick. Neither is God trying to teach you a lesson through that sickness because He’s a good and loving Father. Refuse to be sick and take hold of divine healing and divine health which are you inheritance.

Do you know God wants you rich? Yep, He really does! Over the years many people have spoken against the prosperity of the saint. Yet should you go through the Bible, you will discover vividly righteous people in the likes of Abraham, Job and David were mega-rich. The people of Israel didn’t leave Egypt as poor beggars. In fact they plundered the Egyptians off their silver, gold and clothing. What they did wasn’t their own initiative but was in accordance to the direction of Moses – the prophet of God.

What God is against is the love of money (1Timothy 6:6-10) and discontentment (i.e. being greedy for more without having any godly or moral reason). These are the things you shouldn’t allow to defile your heart and your love for God.

God wants you rich so that you could financially help advance the gospel. It is true that the gospel is free but it is equally true that the means of getting it out to people is very expensive. Moreover, we have the poor and the needy living in our midst, and it is our responsibility to help them out, but you cannot give what you don’t have. So allow God to prosper you, then you can also help prosper others.

If we will be quite honest with ourselves, we would come to the agreement that most of the problems we get into are self-inflicted – they are caused by our own wrong choices and decisions. We most often ignore or reject God’s way of doing things for our own human and hence imperfect endeavours.

For instance, God has instructed us not to worry about anything but should let our requests known to Him by prayer, supplication coupled with thanksgiving (Phil 4:6). Although God has shown clearly the master key to dealing with any kind of challenging situations, many Christians don’t live by this principle. They would rather justify their reason for being worried, and before they could realise the door is opened for Satan to attack them with depression. Don’t be like that! Choose to be joyful even in turbulent cases – for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Christ has taken already your place of sin, sickness, poverty, worry, depression, confusion so that you could partake in His place of righteousness, perfect health, wealth, joy, sound mind and victory.

Grace unto you,

Osei Barnie
