Scripture Reference: Jeremiah 20:9

Then I said, ‘I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name.’ But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not.

Did you see that? Here was a man who had been mocked and persecuted for talking about God because he was the mouthpiece of God. After sometime, however, he decided to give up since the persecution was escalating. Do you know what kept him still blazing for God? God’s Word fired him up to burn and shine in spite of all the challenges.

The fire represents the passion, zeal and enthusiasm one has for God and the things pertaining to His Kingdom. It’s interesting how people get so on fire for God at the early stages of their Christian life. However, as time passes, passion-killing factors such as compromise, complacency, procrastination and reasonable excuses set in and wane off the fire that once burned strong.

It’s high time you returned to your first love for the Lord Jesus. Begin to commit yourself to the studying of the Word and prayer as never before. No more should you be identified as an ordinary Church-goer. Like the early Church, get involved in hitting out on the streets with the saving and healing message of Christ and bring complete liberty to this dying world.

The Spirit of God who is on the inside of you is an active and dynamic person; He’s a blazing God.  He’s always on the move and so must you. If only you’ll yield to Him you’ll begin to blaze always and inextinguishably for the Father’s glory. Praise God!

Grace unto you,

Osei Barnie
